FAZ: Während Sie um den Wiedereinzug in den Landtag zittern, triumphieren die Piraten. Sind das die neuen Liberalen?
C. Lindner: Da gibt es Überschneidungen, etwa bei den Bürgerrechten oder der Bürgerbeteiligung. Ansonsten verstehen viele Piraten unter Freiheit leider vor allem Kostenfreiheit. Der Staat soll alles gratis zur Verfügung stellen - vom öffentlichen Nahverkehr über Laptops und W-Lan bis zum bedingungslosen Grundeinkommen. Das klingt eher nach Linkspartei mit Internetanschluss als nach Liberalismus.
FAZ: Sie sind mit einer New-Economy-Firma gescheitert und als Generalsekretär der FDP in Berlin.
C. Lindner: Man entwickelt sich als Mensch weiter, wenn man nicht nur Siege feiert. Als Selbständiger war ich von 1997 bis 2004 erfolgreich, 2001 war ein Internet-Projekt nicht erfolgreich. Erfahrungen außerhalb der Politik finde ich wichtig. Meinen Rücktritt als Generalsekretär betrachte ich aber ausdrücklich nicht als Niederlage. Das war meine Entscheidung.
