It´s so obvious
Sometimes I tend to think that we, libertarians, have some kind of special clairvoyance that allow us to see things that the rest of the people is not able to, or is not prepared for, like a kind of “sixth sense”. I am not referring to “death people”. I am referring to “obvious things”.
Because it´s so obvious that you can not use others’ money for your own benefit as if it were yours…
It´s so obvious that you can not tell others in which things they have to spend their money or how they shall use it…
It´s so obvious that you don´t have any right to prevent others of doing whatever they want as long as that it is not affecting you or others…
It´s so obvious that you can not force others’ solidarity on things that you think “are the right ones” because maybe others could have a different view…
It´s so obvious that you can not organize how other people have to work, or live, or teach their children…
It´s so obvious that neither you, nor the politicians or bureaucrats have such kind of divine omniscience that allow you or them to know better than anybody what do other people need, want, or prefer…
It´s so obvious that you should not be allowed to tell other people which services they shall use, or how they have to behave when they are at home as long as they respect non-intrusive laws…
It´s so obvious that you have no right to dispose from others private property or the salary/earnings that they obtain with their work…
It´s so obvious that you can not get a salary unless you make something to deserve it, unless you create equivalent or greater wealth or you get it from someone who freely gives it to you…
It´s so obvious that you have no right to tell other people, whichever is their economic situation, that they shall pay your or others’ medical care, education or transport services unless they voluntarily decide to do so…
In summary, it´s so obvious that you can not use your own or others’ force, threats and punishments to restrict and limit others’ liberties, freedoms and properties…
All those things and many more are “so obvious”, that it´s hard for me to understand how so few people is able to realize of that. I´m not stating anywhere that we, libertarians, are more intelligent than others, not even cleverer. I´m just saying that some things are so obvious that there must be a hidden reason why not everybody is libertarian.
Or, well, maybe everybody is, but only for themselves. But then, who is the egoist and the unsupportive?
